14 Kilometres away from Hardoi, a trail envelope by green lavish paddy fields adjoining to national highway 330D will drive to a remote village of Sursaa with a population of around 2157.
Jaadu Ginni Ka reached out to the people of Sursaa first time in January 2019 intending to create a healthy space for financial awareness. The outlined training syllabus of Jaadu Ginni Ka covers the basic financial concepts like banking, elementary concepts of saving and a brief introduction to various government schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana
As it says, ‘if you revisit a place, you will find something new’, the team of Jaadu Ginni Ka revisited the people of Sursaa to interact and refresh the learnings. People, especially SHG women participated with excitement to share their experiences and impacts that the training has bring into their lives. Almost 80% of the population has now operates its bank accounts and have started saving by cutting down their unwanted expenses. Many elderly people have availed the Atal pension yojana and many more are in process.
Mahatma Gandhi once quoted, ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’. ‘I discerned people, despite having fertile lands; they buy vegetables from the market at high prices and later on complaints about it. I suggested them to grow vegetables in their courtyards or the farms. I also have a terrace garden where I grow various vegetables like onion, green chillies, and bottle gourds. That way, rising prices do not disturb my monthly budget and I save almost 500 to 800 a month.’ Said Poonam Verma.
She also helped almost 70 women in her village to avail Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana.
Sarojini Devi, another master trainer shared her experience. After attending the training session in January, she motivated other women in her SHG to avail various government insurance schemes like Pradhan Mantri Sadak Suraksha Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.
These success stories are the keys that keep the morale high and motivate the team of Jaadu Ginni Ka to work more extensively. The program of Jaadu Ginni Ka aimed to bring about changes in society through financial literacy and with a determined and motivated team; it will not leave any stone unturned in the way to create a healthy space where people will be able to make sound financial decisions without any fear in their mind.
