Sameer Pohane is a 29-year-old resident of Wardha, Maharashtra. He used to work in a company, but his monthly income was not enough to meet his expenses. To increase his revenue, he wanted to setup up his own business. Still, he did not have enough savings to initiate it. He chances upon VIF's Financial Literacy Programme, Jaadu Ginni Ka, and attended the online training sessions. Conducted in partnership with Tejaswini Magasvargiya Shikshan Prasarak Mandal NGO, the training helped him understand the concept and importance of savings and investments. Sameer learned about various financial concepts like principal amount, interest, and interest rate in detail. Now, Sameer can plan his finances on his own. He has started investing in mutual funds to earn dividends as a small addition to his income. One of them is the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, a life insurance scheme, thereby securing his family's future. The other one is Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, which provided him with a loan to start his own business.
